4D Funds

The 4D funds are development capital funds, bringing capital and active shareholder support to portfolio companies. With 10-year lives and the ability to invest for the long term, the funds take equity participations in private small to medium sized companies across the hydrocarbons value chain. This includes the upstream, midstream, downstream and technology and services segments of the industry.

4D Global Energy Development Capital Fund Plc. ("Fund I") was launched in April 2003 with total investor commitments of US$81 million. It invested in five companies and has exited from four of them.

4D Global Energy Development Capital Fund II Plc. ("Fund II") held its final closing in March 2007 with total investor commitments of US$181 million. It provided capital to five companies and has exited from two of the five.

4D Global Energy Investments Plc. ("Fund III") held its final closing in June 2010 with total investor commitments of US$216m. It has made eight investments and after having exited from three of them, has five companies remaining in its portfolio.

All three 4D Funds are variable capital companies incorporated in Dublin and authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland. 4D Global Energy Advisors is the Investment Manager of Fund I and II and Alternative Investment Fund Manager (authorized by the French financial markets regulator) of Fund III.

4D's two founding partners and its COO serve on the boards of the funds, along with two independent Irish directors, Mary Finan and Denise Kinsella, both experienced non-executive directors of a number of investment funds and leading financial services copmanies.
